When I started reorganizing my craft stuff a while back, I came across Stamp-n- Storage. All my stamps and dies are stored in their storage pockets, here, on corresponding Stamp Cards, here, and Magnet Cards, here. All my Cloud 9 and Distress Oxides are stored in their Distress Ink Pad Holder, here. My Stampin Up old style pads were stored in the Standard Ink Pad Holder, here, until I decided to sell them. Now I use it to store my other slim style ink pads (LDRS, Momento, Delicata, etc) by adding the Ink Pad Spacers, here, so they don't get pushed to the back.
Stamp-n-Storage is celebrating their 16th Birthday this month. They created a challenge for customers to make a birthday card for Stamp-n-Storage inspired by the decade you turned 16.
Do you remember the decade you turned Sweet 16? It was the 1980s for me. Permed hair with a mile high hay stack on top. Ok...maybe not quite that drastic, but the air spray fumes were for real! Aqua Net anyone?
One really important nostalgic item from the 1980s... I remember tuning in every week for the countdown to see which songs made the top 10... that I recorded on a Cassette Tape.... that required a mandatory #2 pencil on hand.
This was a fun card to make as it took me down memory lane while using this set of stamps and dies for the first time.
This was the first I tried vellum in place of acetate for a shaker card. I needed to tone down the neon color just a little bit to showcase the cassette tape... and I think it worked!
Supplies:
My Favorite Things
> Mixtape Messages Stamp Set
>Take Shape Stamp Set
Ink: any neon will work...
>Persimmon
>Key Lime
>Turquoise Gem
> Purple Hydrangea
VersaColor: Canary
Imagine Crafts has a great selection called Radiant Neon, here, that I found too late to order in time for this card. They're on my wish list. Just need to decide if I use what I have, which worked, or if I need the actual "neon".
Happy Sweet 16th Stamp-n-Storage!
