This first idea I was quite proud of as it didn't cost me anything other than a trip across the kitchen to the trash can and some acrylic paint that I already had in my stash.

I ended up with the distressed look by using sandpaper on the white paint. Very easy and loved the look.
The second idea I wanted to share is storage for the jewels, pearls, etc. I had several packs of Pinkfresh gems that were a little hard to work with in the zip lock pouches. That..and one zip lock broke.
I had bought these containers at Hobby Lobby to store sentiment strips. There were 4 containers for like $5. Each one had different configurations of bins. This one I had yet to use as the bins were somewhat small, but worked perfectly for the gems.
And... they stay separate when flipped over!!
