Attention! What is that Sound?!

(Picture from Tree of Life Bible Society)

Last night, Friday evening September 11, began the first of the Fall Feasts and the fifth on the Biblical Calendar.

There is so much that comes alive when you dig in to the meanings of The Appointed Times, aka Moedim, aka Feasts.

This Appointed Time focuses on The Day of Blowing/Shofar/Trumpets.

“Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a Shabbat rest, a memorial of blowing (shofarot), a holy convocation." - Leviticus 23:24 TLV

You can find out more titles that can be connected here.  But today I wanted to focus in on the blasts that come from the Shofar.  The article I linked below by Tree of Life Ministries is what I wanted to share.  Here's some info from that article:

"Therefore stay alert; for you do not know what day your Lord is coming." - Matthew 24:42 TLV

"My sheep hear My voice. I know them, and they follow Me." - John 10:27 TLV

The four shofar blasts for Yom Teruah are:

>Tekiah: A long, loud blast that lasts about three seconds - "call to attention"

>Shevarim: Three medium-length broken blasts that sound like crying - "call to repentance"

>Teruah: Nine or more rapid staccato rings - "call to battle"

>Tekiah Gedolah: An extra-long blast that lasts about nine seconds - "call to announce the coming King"

When the Great Day comes, will you recognize the call of the coming King? ADONAI only asks us to spend one day a year learning His calls - one day out of 365 to know what His alert will sound like.

Yeshua says that His sheep know the sound of His voice. We forget that the shofar is one of the parts of His Voice..

Blow the shofar in Zion! Sound an alarm on My holy mountain! Let all living in the land tremble— for the day of Adonai is coming— surely it is near! -Joel 2:1 TLV

Shalom!
