My first card for 2023 I made for a friend who was under the weather. I recently purchased this stamp set on sale and wanted to give it a whirl.
All the showcase cards for this stamp set are really cute. With it still being "winter" (it's in the 70's today in Mississippi), I wanted to use the winter branch. Here's the card I tried to copy from the website:
It looks like it was done with color pencils. And while I do have color pencils, I wanted to finally open some watercolors my friend gave me some time back. She had bought some Prima Watercolors Confections tins on sale and decided to share in her finds. It was kind of therapeutic making this card.
I stamped the image with Memento Ink (nope.. not watercolor safe as the ink bled a little) on watercolor paper before painting. I also distressed the edges and then ran the watercolor along the edge.
I flicked gold paint mixed with some water to dilute across the front of the card. Do you see the flecks in the above picture? Yeah, they're on my table too. I used a mat... :)
