I had purchased this stamp - Stampabilities Destiny - several years ago while on a trip to my parents'. It has sat for at the least 4 years in my stash of unused stamps. I was determined to use it this year. I did a search on Splitcoast Stampers & only found one idea. I also searched the net...to no avail. I couldn't believe it. I can copy most ideas out there, but come up with my own? They are few and far between. But, every once in a while I surprise myself. This is one of those times.
I sat down yesterday at about 4pm and started this project. I finished about 6 hours later. I did make a 30 minute trip to Dollar General during that time. Now, let me tell you I had already stamped this image like 30 something times and had tried several different things. Always back to my original thought, just the stamped image. This is where I ended up.
I ended up with using the Gatefold type card turned on its side..5.25x5.25. I had tried several others..but due to the image size this fit the best. I used SU Chocolate Chip & Pear Pizzazz. One of the verses I used inside..well, I really wanted the outside to resemble a gift box. The stamp is from Stampin Up's Christmas Punch set & it says 'A merry little Christmas to you'.
On the inside I used the following stamps: Stampablilities' Changes Everything; Divinity Designs' Scripture Collection 2 which says For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8. I distressed the edges using a Making Memories tool and then inked with Pear Pizzazz.. The Crumb Cake is run through my Cuttlebug using SU's square lattice textured impressions embossing folder and then inked with CC. The stamp I inked using a brayer, so much fine detail to show.
I am entering this in the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #67. Based on Philippians 4:13 that says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", we are to make a card/project of encouragement or congrats. Where better to find our encouragement than at the Cross. What better gift can one receive?
Thanks for stopping by...
Lori :)
