VC Rocks! Blog Hop #3

If you'd like to start at the beginning of this hop to get lots of great ideas, you need to go to our VC Rocks Blog.  If you came from Stace - Stampin' Stace, you're well on your way. Your next stop will be at Deborah Robb-Thoughts of a Grasshopper.

I think you can basically do anything Stampin' Up related, but the original idea was to feature new items, carry over items or summer mini items.  I decided to use a gift I sent in my Roomie Box for my hop this month.  I'm hoping she has already received it by now. :)

I found instructions at SplitCoastStampers for a File Folder Notebook.  I used Stampin' Up's Thoroughly Modern File Folders out of the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog to create the folder.  Although this particular set of folders in no longer in the catalog, there is a brand new set called Play Date.

I used Soft Suede, Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stock & ink.  I colored images with ink & Blender Pen.  The stamp set is Elements of Style.  As an added touch, I rolled Melon Mambo CS & put inside the RSVP pen and covered the notebook top with the same color.

I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture, but I distressed the edges of the WW & MM cs on the bird card.  All 3 cards & envelopes fit in the left pocket and I hang the pen on the inside fold between the 2 pockets.  I used a Velcro dot/spot/? to close folder.  The outside sentiment is punched with the scallop circle in both colors & rotated.  Note:  if you miscalculate the trimming/scoring and the notebook doesn't fit, you can trim excess from the top, put envelopes in left pocket & cards in right pocket.  (yes...I'm speaking from experience)

I've also used this same set with 2 other color sets:  Bermuda Bay & Soft Suede, Black & White.  I was on a roll this week.  The BB & SS was the first set I made.  The B&W set is for my mom for her birthday next week.
My problem is purchasing a stamp set, making a card or two & then it sits for a really long time.  I think this set one that will get plenty of use.

Just a couple more blogs to go.  Have a great weekend!
Happy Stampin'!
Lori

Very, very nice ... Marisol took my words - I was going to say the same thing .. I often make cards with the same set and design in other colors - really makes a difference. Love the little touches - like the pearls on the border of the bird card. Classy! Thanx for sharing ...

Argh ... how do you pick a color? They're all so nice! I think I'd have to go with Bermuda bay but really, they're all fantastic!
