5th/6th Creation of 2023 (cards)

Sharing a couple of cards I've made over the last couple of months.

I just got into foiling with the Minc.  To force me to get back into crafting, and build up some foils, I opted to do the Pink and Main monthly foil subscription.   I have ordered some supplies from other companies/brands.  I think I really like the P&M foil.  It seems a little thicker and come on a roll.  I made the following shaker card from one of the palm tree toner sheets (Thermoweb, I think) and Tinsel Green CheerFoil.  The shaker elements were from Michael's.

I've also recently come across Lisa Horton Blending Ink and am slowing increasing my stash.  The following card was made using her Interference Ink Pad - Warm Chestnut.  It had been catching my eye for a while now and decide to purchase.  When doing my usual blending swatch, I was ready to chunk it.  I'm not sure how to describe my thoughts.  Murky? Dirty?  Yuck!  And... It definitely has shimmer.  After I let it sit for a while, it was ok.  A friend mentioned trying an embossing folder and heat embossing.  So, I pulled out my supplies and created the following card.  I mounted it on Taylored Expressions Mulled Wine cardstock.  And... it kinda grew on me.

The embossing folder technique (diamond background) has a little of a distressed look, which has been one of my favorite techniques.  The embossing of the verse was with clear embossing powder.  With the shimmer of the ink, I'm not sure it really shows.
