Happy Birthday Winnie-The-Pooh!

One hundred years ago on October 14, 1926, the children's book Winnie-The-Pooh was first published.

The story was inspired by a female black bear named Winnie that was donated to the London Zoo.  This is where A.A. Milne and his son, Christopher Robin, saw the bear we have come to love as Winnie-The-Pooh.

Classic Pooh is my favorite character & has been as long as I can remember. He is loyal, adventurous and wise. He also has the best of friends.

So when my daughter told me he was 100, I knew I had to celebrate the day!  I watched a movie(actually 2) and made a card.

I watched for the first time:  A Bear Named Winnie - the true story about how the black bear became the inspiration for the stories.  2004 with Michael Fassburger.

Another true story movie: Goodbye Christopher Robin - about A.A. Milne's relationship with his son and how he was inspired to write the stories. 2017 with Domhnall Gleeson.

I also watched my favorite Pooh movie, albeit not really a bio or based on the stories but still in character of Pooh and uses a lot of references:  Christopher Robin.  2018 with Ewan McGregor.  A grown Christopher Robin encounters his childhood friend who helps him remember the endless days of wonder & make-believe.
